Last Minute Thanksgiving Table Ideas: Cornucopia Place Cards

Growing up, my mom always had cornucopia filled with candy corn and nuts for each member of the family. Next to the cornucopia was our name tag so we knew exactly where we were sitting during the Thanksgiving feast. I searched high and low to find those mini cornucopias. After much disappointment, I realized that ice-cream cones would be perfect. Plus, everyone could enjoy eating them for dessert (if they had room in their bellies). Personalize your Thanksgiving table with place cards and a yummy treat for each family member.

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS PROJECT:

  • Scrapbook paper
  • Paper cutter
  • Double stick tape
  • Vinyl letters for each family member
  • Ice-cream cones
  • Candy corn
  • Nuts
  • Mini Bowdabra
  • Bowdabra Bow Wire
  • Gold, Brown or orange ribbon

INSTRUCTIONS:
1-If you have a vinyl machine, print out the names of each family member present for your Thanksgiving dinner. Place each name on scrapbook paper. I used brown since I had white vinyl names.

2-Use the paper cutter to cut around each name. Tape onto orange paper or whatever scrapbook paper you would like to use. I used three different sized scrapbook paper.

3- Cut about 20 inches of Bowdabra Wire, fold in half and place in the Bowdabra.

4- Place the ribbon in the Mini Bowdabra and create 2-3 loops on each side. I used the Fold Bow method and two different colored ribbons (gold and zebra). Scrunch ribbon down with the Mini Bowdabra Wand. While the bow is still in the Mini Bowdabra, thread the two loose ends of the Bowdabra Wire through the loop at the other end.

5-Fluff your bow.

6-Gently attach the bow to an ice-cream cone. Be careful not to break the cone. Fill your ice-cream cone with candy corn and nuts. Place one of the place cards next to it. Enjoy watching each family member/guest as they find their name.

Happy Thanksgiving!
