Thanksgiving Gifts: Cornucopia with Bowdabra Bow

This Thanksgiving design a cornucopia basket to give as a gift. Cornucopias are classic Thanksgiving decor, a horn of How to make a Thanksgiving cornucopia basket, plenty, is symbolized using a cone shaped basket with overflowing food. These wonderful gift baskets are great for Thanksgiving centerpieces!

I filled the basket with gourds, pumpkins, and dried corn. However, fruits, nuts, and flowers are often used in cornucopias, as well. I finished the basket with a Loopy Bowdabra Bow.

Materials Needed:

Instructions:

1. Begin with a cone shaped cornucopia basket. The basket that I am using has a tray shape along the bottom. If your basket does not have a tray use a serving tray at the bottom of the basket.

2. Fill the basket with fall foods like gourds, pumpkins, dried corn, walnuts, and flowers.

3. Design a large loopy bow for the basket using the Bowdabra. Begin by cutting 18″ of Bowdabra Bow Wire. Fold the wire in half and place it into the Bowdabra.

4. Cut two ribbon strands to be used as tails. Dovetail the ends of each ribbon and place them into the Bowdabra.

5. Next, place the end of the wire ribbon print-side down in the Bowdabra.

6. Fold and twist the ribbon to create your first loop.

7. Continue folding and twisting ribbon to create loops.

8. Make as many loops as you desire.

9. Scrunch down with the Bowdabra Bow Wand.

10. While the bow is still in the Bowdabra, thread the two loose ends of the Bowdabra Bow Wire through the loop at the other end. Pull the Bowdabra Bow Wire tightly while the bow is still in the Bowdabra.

11. Gently pull the bow out of the Bowdabra. Separate the two loose ends of the Bowdabra Bow Wire and bring them around to the back of the bow. To tie off the bow, pinch the Bowdabra Bow Wire securely against the bow.
Twist the bow 4 to 6 times in a clockwise direction.

12. Fluff the bow.

13. Use the remaining Bowdabra Bow Wire to tie the bow to the basket.
