Wedding Money Card Gift-Wrapped

Wedding Money Card Gift Wrapped

When you attend a wedding you wrap your gifts beautifully, but when the gift is in a wedding money card you should take just as much care in its presentation as well!

You can easily glam up your card by creating a special envelope quickly and easily with just a few supplies.

This little money holder card is store bought but the envelope that you present it in handcrafted. It’s easy. And it’s sure to stand out in a pile of regular old cards.

Supplies:

  • Wedding money card with envelope
  • Watercolor paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Silver prism holographic duct tape sheet (they are 8.25” x 10”)
  • Silver miniature heart
  • 18 inches 6 inch wide glitter tulle
  • Stylus
  • Glue stick
  • Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks

Instructions:

  1. Gather your supplies. Open the envelope that came with the card and use it as a pattern to transfer it to the watercolor paper. Carefully cut out the envelope from the watercolor paper and discard the pattern envelope.

  1. Use the ruler and the stylus to score the fold lines. Use a glue stick to attach the bottom flap to the sides.

  1. Since you use them to insert a check or cash, money cards are usually 7” x 4”. Cut a piece of holographic duct tape 7” x 2”. Center the tape lengthwise on the back of the envelope, remove the backing and attach.

  1. Make the tulle puff. Cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire to 18 inches. Fold in half and insert into the bow maker. There will be a loop at one end and two pieces of wire at the other.

  1. Cut an 18-inch piece of glitter tulle. Fold in half so that it is 3 inches wide. Begin inserting the tulle straight down into the bow maker from the top just like an accordion. Continue until you have used up all the tulle.

  1. Scrunch down with the Bowdabra wand.

  1. Insert the two wires through the loop and pull tight while the puff is still in the bow maker. Remove from the bow maker and tie a knot in the back. Fluff out the puff.

  1. Using the hot glue gun add the silver heart to the center of the puff. Attach to the left side of the envelope with some more glue. Pull the two pieces of wire from the back of the puff to the right side of the envelope.

  1. Use the pencil to wind the wire around to make a curly cue and remove. Repeat for second wire.

After inserting your check or cash, use the glue stick to seal the envelope.

You can substitute the roll duct tape if you prefer.
