DIY Cat Ears

Are your kiddos ready for Halloween? With four kids to outfit, we like simple costumes. I also like pairing clothing with easy accessories for an inexpensive costume. By combining a black shirt and leggings with these DIY Cat Ears, you’ll have a quick costume that can actually be comfortable to wear on Halloween.

Supplies:

  • Mini Bowdabra
  • Ribbon for bow
  • Coordinating ribbon for bow center
  • Hot glue gun and hot glue
  • Scissors
  • White fabric paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Black felt or fleece
  • Cardboard triangles
  • Blank headband

Cut the black fleece into a long strip. Wrap the fleece around the blank headband, using hot glue gun to secure.

Place a cardboard triangle on the black fleece and cut around it, creating an attached matching black fleece triangle piece as shown in the photo below.

Hot glue the cardboard triangle in the center of one side.

Repeat to make a second ear.

Fold each black fleece/cardboard piece around the headband. Use hot glue to secure.

Use the white fabric paint on the inside of each black triangle ear. Let dry completely.

Pull out the Mini Bowdabra. Use the two ribbons to create a quick bow.

Hot glue the bow to the middle of the ears.

Pair with an all black outfit and boots for a super cute little cat!
