Back to School Bow Ribbon Clock

It’s that time of year to start getting ready for going back to school. What better way to start off the new school year by being on time! Why not make this adorable bow ribbon clock so you’ll have no excuse to be late! Have fun putting this clock together using Bowdabra bows!  Here’s how:

Materials needed
Wooden circle
Bow ribbon fabric (Walmart)
Ribbon – 1 1/2″ wide
Clock kit
Awl or small drill
Mod podge/brush
Mini Bowdabra, Bow Tool and Ruler, Bow Wire, Wand
Command strips
Scissors

Instructions
Cut out bow fabric 1/2 inch larger than the wooden circle. Apply mod podge to the backing and smooth out on wooden circle.

Cut slits in the fabric border and smooth over the edge onto back and let dry. Use an awl or small drill to make hole in center of circle large enough for the clock mechanism to fit in.

Attach clock kit to wooden circle following package directions.

Make the bows

To make the bows, cut a 12″ piece of bow wire, fold in half and place in the Mini Bowdabra, tucking ends under. Cut the ribbon 10″ inches long, sealing both ends with a lighter or clear nail polish. Crease one end of the ribbon and place in the Mini Bowdabra.

Make another crease at the other end of ribbon, looping over the Mini Bowdabra tower . . .

and insert in the Mini Bowdabra.

Use the hair bow tool and ruler to measure the loops evenly. Make a crease in the center of the ribbon and press down into the Mini Bowdabra.

Scrunch down the ribbon with the wand.

While the bow is still in, thread the two loose ends of the bow wire through the loop, pulling the wire tightly, and then gently pull out and tie in a knot at the back. Tie another knot to secure and cut off excess wire.

Make eleven more bow the same way and size to have 4 black, 4 pink and 4 white in place of numbers.

Attach bows using command strips, evenly spaced, starting with the 12,3,6,and 9 marks around the fabric covered clock.
Attach the remaining bow, alternating colors, for the remaining marks . . .

to complete the clock.

You can’t help but look at this oh so cute bow ribbon clock and always be on time!
