Batiful Halloween Bat Decorations

How to Make Halloween Bat Decorations

Get ready for a spooky and frightfully fun Halloween event with these adorable Halloween bat decorations made with your Bowdabra!  How batiful are these!  Shaped like a bat with pointy ears and fanged face, they are super easy to make and will surely be a hit at any Halloween gathering!

Here’s how:

Material Needed:
Felt
Chalk
Googly eyes
Glue
Scissors
Ruler
Bowdabra Bow Maker
Bowdabra  Bow Wire

For the larger bat, cut out a 15″x15″ felt square.

First fold in half and draw a chalk line diagonally from top corner edge to 2 1/2″ from bottom fold and cut out.

Now you will have a triangular shape.  Next, draw semi-circles three fourths down on edge .  .  .

and cut out.

To remove any chalk lines, wipe felt with a balled-up paper towel.

To assemble bat, fold 18″ Bowdabra wire and insert into Bowdabra, tucking ends under.

Next, insert cutout felt into Bowdabra, grasping down like an accordion fold.

Scrunch felt down in center with the Bowdabra wand.

While the felt wings are still in the Bowdabra, thread the loose ends of the wire through the loop and pull tightly.

Gently pull the wings out of the Bowdabra, tying the wire around to the back and knot. Cut off excess wire.

Now add the Halloween bat face

To make the bat face, cut a piece of felt, 1 1/2″ wide by 5″ long.  Fold lengthwise and dovetail both ends to mimic bat ears and fangs by cutting at an angle on the fold, adjusting the cutting width.

Glue on googly eyes .  .  .

And then glue bat face onto center of wings.

How cute is this “flying” Halloween bat?  It’s Batiful!

These DIY bats will make a cute and lasting  impression for your Halloween décor!  They can also be easily converted to a hair accessory just by gluing on a clip.

Have fun decorating for Halloween and going batty with your adorable Bowdabra bat creations!
