Make Unique Christmas Decor With Help From The Mini Bowdabra

Make DIY Wreath for Christmas in July Decoration

Hi everyone! Tammy here today with a fun and unique Christmas decor tutorial. I love the holidays but I have to admit with retail starting Christmas in July, sometimes by the time Christmas is here, I am over all of the red and green. This year I decided to create this fun wreath out of some leopard ribbon as the neutral background and red and gold metallic ribbon and silk and burlap flowers.  Leopard print ribbon may be unconventional for Christmas but that is what makes this unique Christmas decor. Sometimes that is just what you need to take a project from ordinary to extraordinary!

Unique Christmas decor

Here is how I made it…

Supplies:

Mini Bowdabra

Bowdabra gold wire

Leopard burlap ribbon

Red and gold metallic mesh ribbon

Smoothfoam wreath form

Silk and burlap flowers from the Dollar Store

Glue Dots Advanced

Wire cutter

Directions:

Place Glue Dots on the wreath form.

Secure leopard ribbon on top of the Glue Dots.

Wrap the ribbon tightly and evenly around the wreath form.

Use a few Glue Dots to secure the end of the ribbon.

Add more Glue Dots on top of the leopard ribbon and secure the metallic mesh ribbon to it.  Wrap the ribbon around the wreath form and secure the end with more Glue Dots.

Metallic mesh ribbon can be loose in spots as long as it is secure from coming unraveled.

Now add the flowers

Cut the stems off of the silk flowers.

Add Glue Dots to the bottom of the silk flowers and adhere to the wreath.

Cut a piece of the metallic mesh ribbon about 18 inches long and create a knot at the end.

Create a slip knot to hang the wreath from.

Cut a piece of Bowdabra wire about 18 inches long and place inside the Mini Bowdabra. Wrap wire around the bottom of the Mini Bowdabra to keep it out of your way.

Fold the ribbon in half and pinch to mark the center.

Bring each end into the center crossing over about one inch.

Fold in half again and pinch to mark the center.

Pinch the center together and place inside of the Mini Bowdabra.

Adjust the loops to be equal, if needed.

Bring the Bowdabra wire up and create a slip knot.

Remove from the Mini Bowdabra and tie a double knot to secure.

Tie the bow to the top of the wreath on the hanging ribbon.

Don’t you just love how this wreath turned out! I can’t wait to make some matching Christmas decorations for the inside of my home also! I hope this gives you some ideas on how to create unique Christmas decor and many other fun items with the Mini Bowdabra.
