“Hi, I’m Sandy Sandler, and we’re going to have so much fun today creating this really cute patriotic napkin ring.

Patriotic napkin rings video tutorial

Now I’m going to start with a toilet paper roll, and I’ve already clipped about maybe 1/4-3/8 of an inch piece off of that. And then I have these ties. They are basically like the ties that you use to tie bags in the grocery store. I got them at the craft store in really patriotic colors.

So, I’m going to start by just putting them here. And I’m going to twist it over my toilet paper. I’m going to take one at a time, and I’m just going to bring it and kind of work it through. And then I’ll leave a little space here because my red color is going to go in between my blue color. So, I’ll do that, and then I’m going to do the red. Next, I’m just going to bring this red through the blue like that. And I’m going to continue doing that. So you don’t have to watch me do the whole thing I’ve got one magically already done.

Now make the scrunchy bows

So next, I’m going to make little bows that are going to go around it. First, I’ll take my Mini Bowdabra and my Bowdabra Bow Wire. I’ve got the wire folded in half and I’m just going to insert it into the Bowdabra and then tuck it under to keep it out of the way.

I’ve cut my Bowdabra Scrunchie Ribbon into three strips. And I am going to just scrunch this down into my Mini Bowdabra. I don’t even need the wand for this project. Next, I’m going to take my little piece of garland and insert that. This is great, because you could do this a President’s Day dinner and you could also use it for 4th of July, for Patriot’s Day.

Now, I’m going to bring this through my loop and pull it tight while it’s still in the Bowdabra. Then I’ll bring it out and bring it around to the back and just tie it off. I’m not too worried about.

The silver is just going to look really pretty on here. Then, I’m going to double-knot it. I was just going to say that I’m not too worried about double-knotting it, but I guess the OCD in me is going to double-knot it, because that way I know it won’t fall apart. Finally I’m just going to clip the ends very close in.

Finishing your napkin rings

And now I’ve already, by magic I have two others created. I love video because you can prepare things beforehand so you don’t have to watch the proverbial paint dry. Now, I’m going to just put a little bit of glue right here. There we go. And now I’m going to just stick this end with the bow on top, and I’m going to go here and do the next one. We’ll just take a little bit of glue there, put the glue back here. And do it with another one. Again, just a little bit of glue and put this one here. And now you have absolutely adorable patriotic napkin rings that you could use for 4th of July, Patriot’s Day, President’s Day, lots of uses.
