Make a beautiful bottle quick and easy with Bowdabra! Transform an ordinary glass bottle with ribbon into a lovely vase or decorative piece. It’s a great way to repurpose and upcycle and your imagination is unlimited on how you can design it. How fun it is to wrap a glass bottle with ribbon cording and add a lovely ribbon leaves vine decorated with flowers made of ribbon and floral wire and top off your beautiful bottle with a Bowdabra bow. Here’s how to make:
Gather the following materials:
Glass bottle
Sheer Spring Floral Print 1.5″ – May Arts Ribbon
Jumbo Leaves Vine Ribbon – May Arts Ribbon
Ribbon Cording
Mini Bowdabra Hair Bow Tool and Ruler, Bow Wire and Wand
Double Sided Tape
Floral Wire – 18 gauge
Fabri-Tac Glue
Hot Glue
Scissors, Wire Cutters
Stone Embellishments
Make a beautiful bottle
Begin by placing strips of double sided tape around the height of the bottle and starting at the bottom, wrap the ribbon cording around the bottle.

completely covered.
To make the flowers: Twist a floral stem around a small tube (I used a craft paint bottle for the larger flower and a magic marker for the smaller flower), cutting off excess wire.
Make five petals for each flower.
Place Fabri-Tac glue around the edge of the wire and press down onto the ribbon making sure the wire edges are in contact with the ribbon. Rub your fingers around the wire edges sealing together the ribbon and wire. You can also place a heavy object over the wire petals and let dry completely. It doesn’t take long for the Fabri-Tac and ribbon to seal and dry.
Once the ribbon is dry, cut out the petals.
Assemble the petals in groups of five and hot glue together at the twisted stem ends. Hot glue a stone embellishment to the center of each flower.
Wrap the leaves vine around the bottle and glue in place.
To make the Bowdabra bow:
Cut a 18″ piece of bow wire, folding in half and placing in the Mini Bowdabra. Next, place the floral ribbon right side up into the Mini Bowdabra leaving a tail.
To make the first loop, fold and twist and crease the ribbon down into the Mini Bowdabra, placing the loop at the 2 1/2″ mark on the ruler.
Next, fold and twist the other side, making a loop at the same width, leaving a tail, right side up.
Scrunch down the ribbon with the Mini Bowdabra Wand and while the bow is still in,
thread the loose ends through the loop, tightly, gently pull the bow out and separating the wires and taking them around to the back, tying in a knot and cutting off excess wire.
Dovetail the ends by folding together and cutting on the diagonal from the fold to the ends.
Fluff bow and glue onto bottle.
Glue on the larger ribbon wire flower to the center of the Bowdabra bow and the smaller one, near the ribbon vine for a pretty decorative look!
