Voss water bottle into a lovely patriotic vase

These Voss water bottles are so cool, because the glass is really nice. So, it’s a phenomenal way to upcycle to make a lovely patriotic vase! Now, what I’m going to do is just put the bottle aside.

And what I did here is I just wrapped, you can see here where I glued the fabric around the bottle. Then, once that’s glued on, what I’m going to do is take these little stars I just basically cut off of a garland. And I’m just going to use a glue dot and just put those here. I’ve already put the other two on here. I’m just going to glue that star right there with a glue dot. I actually tried using a glue gun, but don’t, because they melt.

Make the bow

The next thing I’m going to do is make a cute little bow. So, I’m going to take my Bowdabra Bow Wire, fold it in half and lay that down into the Bowdabra. And kind of tuck the ends underneath.

Then I’m just going to take this piece of organza ribbon, and I’m pretty much going to fold it in half and just lay that into my Bowdabra. I’m going to take this awesome fabric, and you can use Fray Check or a lighter to just fix the ends so they don’t fray.

I have another piece of fabric here that matches the fabric I used to cover the bottle. Next comes this piece of red tulle.

Finishing the bow

I’m just going to scrunch this all down in here. And then I’m going to take my Bowdabra wand and just scrunch all that. I take my wire, and again, I have a slipknot so I pull it through. Hold the bow down while it’s still in the Bowdabra then pull it out, separate the ends, bring it around to the back. And I’m going to just tie it off. Make sure I get my fabric so it doesn’t get caught in the back here. I’m going to knot it, clip the ends. I’m just going to fluff everything out here and take a little bit of glue and put that right on here. And glue my bow. These are just going to dangle down.

Fill your vase

For the final step, I’m going to open my bottle, use my funnel and take some sand, and I’m just going to clip the end. I think that way it easily pours into my bottle. I use the sand to hold our grass. So, we have these wild pieces of grass that are going to go right into the bottle. These are artificial, but of course, you could use real.

So then, I’m going to take these cute little things that we cut off the garland, and we’re just going to shape them around. And the trick really is to just find a spot in between the flowers so that they stick in easily. We’ll put one more in for good measure. I’ll just kind of put that in there.

Finally I kind of fluff everything out. So you have this beautiful finished arrangement for 4th of July, or Patriot’s Day, or any time that you want to do a patriotic favor. Wouldn’t this me wonderful on each table at a July wedding reception? And the guests could take one home as a favor!
