How to Make Easy Multi-layered Bows for a Special Pup

Create multi-layered bows for a special pup! This is Xena, a darling rescued fur baby.

She wandered into my niece’s life one Sunday morning nearly three years ago – emaciated, covered with mange and matted fur.

From the moment Patricia saw her, she knew she had to help her. Zena’s story is from rescue to triumph   . . .   Just look at her now! She’s happy and thriving, modeling the multi-layered bows I made her.

Xena is quite the show-off in her handmade multi-layered bows! She is a bit of a rambunctious diva – always demanding attention. Don’t you just love it! We all love to dress up our fur babies with bows and Xena is no exception! And the layered bows were quite easy to make for her using a Mini Bowdabra!

Begin by gathering all the materials you’ll need:
Assorted Ribbon – two 12″ lengths, 2.5 wide – one 12″ length, 7/8″ wide
Mini Bowdabra
Bowdabra Hair Bow Tool and Ruler, Bow Wire, Wand
Scissors
Heat to seal ribbon

Multi-layered Bows Instructions

To make the black & white and the pink & purple layered bows:  Cut a 16″ piece of Bowdabra bow wire, folding in half and insert into the Mini Bowdabra, tucking ends under. Cut a 12″ ribbon, sealing ends with heat. Crease end and place down into the Mini Bowdabra.

Make a 2.5″ loop and press into the Mini Bowdabra.

Next, fold the other side into a loop the same width, leaving a tail.

Fold ribbon tail into loops, one at a time down through the center of the Mini Bowdabra, making two more loops. Scrunch down with the Mini Bowdabra Wand.

Do the same with the other ribbon, the same length, sealing and creasing end
down into the Mini Bowdabra, making four equal loops, as before.

Scrunch down with the wand.

And finally, insert 7/8″ ribbon into the Mini Bowdabra, as before make two equal 2.5″ loops on both sides, for a total of four loops.

Scrunch down all ribbon.

While the bow is still in the Mini Bowdabra, push the two loose ends of the wire through the loop, pulling tightly, Gently pull the bow out, separating the wires around to the back and tying in a knot.

Fluff the bow and . . .

tie onto your fur baby’s collar!

Sweetness overload!
