Lovely holiday pew bow

Now, we’re going to make this really pretty holiday bow that I designed to be a pew bow for a Christmas-themed wedding. So, I’m going to start with my Bowdabra Bow Wire. I’m going to lay it down into my Bowdabra and tuck the ends underneath. I fold it in half before I lay it in.

Next, I’m going to take this piece of ribbon, and I’m just going to lay this down in here. Then I’m taking this ribbon, and I’ve dovetailed the ends. (And just in case you don’t know how to dovetail, you’re going to fold your ribbon in half and you’re just going to cut diagonally towards the fold, and that’s what gives you the really pretty pointed ends.) So, I’m going to fold it in half, find the center, and scrunch that down into my Bowdabra.

Then, I have another exactly the same, and I’m going to fold it, find the center, and just scrunch that into my Bowdabra. And I’m going to kind of shape it, so I don’t have to shape it as much when I’m done, so the tails go in opposite directions.

Next, I’m going to take this ribbon here that I’ve already cut and dovetailed. And, I’m just going to keep putting these in. And again, I’m just folding it to find the center and just kind of shaping them.  It’s a wired ribbon, so it’s really easy to push it in different directions. Do the same thing here and the same thing right here. So now, I’m going to take some more of the gold ribbon that I used in this tail, and I’m just going to twist it, fold it back, twist it.

Finishing the bow

Now, I have this beautiful holiday pick. I’m just going to throw that into my Bowdabra. And I’m going to take my Bowdabra wand and just give everything a really good scrunch.

To finish, I’m going to take my Bowdabra Bow Wire, and I’m going to pull it through the slipknot. Which is easy because I folded it in half before I put it in. I pull it really tight while it’s still in the Bowdabra. Now I can just pull my bow out, separate the ends, bring it around to the back. And I’m going to tie a knot, and double-knot it.

I’ll leave the wire so if I need to tie it onto something before I put it on the pew. It’ll be perfect, or if I wanted to I could also use these tails here to tie it onto a vase, for a centerpiece, or for a gift table. There are so many different ways you can use it. And I’m just going to kind of move everything around here in order to shape it. I’ll bring this ribbon up here, shape it like that. And now you have this beautiful bow that was really simple and easy to make.
