Instructions for Making the Bow

  1. Cut the ends of the ribbon to a point by folding the ribbon in half lengthwise and cutting away the tip at an angle. Quickly pass all ribbon ends through a flame to seal the ends.
  2. Fold the bow wire in half and put in the Bowdabra. Tuck the ends of the wire under the Bowdabra to keep they out of the way.
  3. Place the center of the 12″ length of ribbon in the Bowdabra face up.
  4. Place the end of the 45″ length of ribbon in the Bowdabra face down.
  5. Make a three-loop fold-and-twist bow with the 54″ length of ribbon. Each loop should be approximately 3″.
  6. Compress the ribbon with the Bowdabra Wand.
  7. With the ribbons still in the Bowdabra, pass the wire ends through the loop and tighten. Tie a secure knot. Bring the wire ends to the back side of the bow and tie a second knot. Leave the wire ends long to attach the bow to the ornament blank.
  8. Fluff the bow.
  9. Attach the the ornament blank.

You can add a design to the front of your ornament blank, if desired. The Crafty Christmas collection from The Hungry JPEG has lots of appropriate graphics.
