Special guest designer post how to make a super easy wreath

This week we are featuring a guest designer post by Jeannie Adams.  Jeannie shows you how to make this super easy wreath that is perfect for the spring season even into summer!

Although Jeannie says she is a novice, she has made over 400 hair bows, flower arrangements, and wreaths! As beautiful as her work is would you believe she says that she never thought she could be creative. And she credits Bowdabra with bringing that creativity to the forefront!  We are so thankful that she chose to share her creation here today!

Bowdabra super easy wreath

Materials:

  • Wreath wrapped in burlap
  • Flowers and small eggs for gluing to the wreath
  • Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
  • Bowdabra
  • Bowdabra bow wire
  • 26” 6-inch wide blue burlap
  • 2 piece of korker ribbon
  • Two 12-inch pieces of 6-inch wide daisy tulle
  • Small flower picks (2)
  • 2 12-inch pieces of sheer floral ribbon
  • 16” of 2 ½” wide tan burlap ribbon
  • One flower for the center of the wreath

Instructions:

Gather all your materials.

First, wrap the wreath in tan burlap all the way around.  Next, use some hot glue to add three small flowers on the wreath.  Then, glue three small Easter eggs on the outside edges of the flowers.  Set the wreath aside while you make the bow.

Make the bow

Cut a length of Bowdabra bow wire.  Fold it in half and insert into the Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other. This will be your slipknot.

Place the blue burlap ribbon right side down into the Bowdabra.  Then, fold right side down on the opposite side.  Press the center of the burlap ribbon down into the Bowdabra. Now, insert a piece of korker ribbon.

Next, fold a piece of floral mesh in half to find the center and insert into the Bowdabra.  Repeat with another piece of mesh. Now place flower pick on each side of the Bowdabra.

Fold the sheer flower ribbon in half to find the center and insert into the Bowdabra.  Repeat with the second piece of sheer flower ribbon. Now, using the tan burlap ribbon insert right side down into the Bowdabra. Bring the ribbon across and insert opposite end of the ribbon right side down. Press down in the center to make the bow.

Fold the smaller textured burlap ribbon in half to find the center and insert into the Bowdabra.  Do the same thing with the other piece of the corresponding burlap.  As a final touch add the center flower.  Scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.

To finish, insert the two loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra.  Turn to the back and tie a knot.  Use the excess wire to tie to the prepared wreath.
