First, we’re going to make this amazing fathers day gift. So, let’s get started. Now, ahead of time, what I did was, I took a chopstick and I just took a piece of ribbon. I dovetailed the end and made a flag that says Number One Dad. I used a rhinestone mesh and some sticky glitter paper. So, I’m going to put that aside because we’re going to come back to it.
Next, I’ll take by Bowdabra, I’ve got my Bowdabra Bow Wire which I’ve folded it in half and I’m just going to tuck the ends underneath the Bowdabra just to keep them out of the way.
Then, I’m going to take this really nice ribbon and I’m going to scrunch it into my Bowdabra. Then this last part I’m just going to tuck under and tuck it in. Now, I’m going to take this ribbon and I’m just going to dovetail the ends. (So the way that you dovetail is to cut from the end into the fold at an angle) There you have your really pretty dovetail.
So, I’m going to take my picks and just lay my picks into my Bowdabra.
Then I’m going to take my dovetail ribbon and lay that in and then I have another piece and I’m just going to lay that as well. Next, I’m going to take another piece of dovetail ribbon and put that in here. Now, take another piece here and scrunch that in.
Now what I’m going to do is take my Bowdabra Bow Wire, pull it up and pull it through my slit knot. This is why I always fold it in half. Hold my bow while I pull it tight in the Bowdabra. Then, I’m going to separate the ends. Again, I’m going to pull it tight, bring it around to the back and tie a knot. And what’s cool with the Bowdabra Bow Wire is it’s very malleable and very strong.
Next, I’m going to take my cool organizing clip. I’m just going to shape this bow a little bit but then I’ll shape it more once I get it into, bring my picks around here. Now, I’m going to take my wire and use my Bowdabra Bow Wire to tie the bow onto the mega big paperclip, which came from the dollar store. This is a very, very inexpensive gift to make
So now, I’m going to knot this. Double knot it and I’ll just clip my ends and bring the bow underneath here and kind of shape it around.
To finish, I’ll take my number one dad and just stick this down in here. Right into my little paperclip like that. You have this amazing Father’s day gift.
