“Hi, I’m Sandy Sandler, the creator of the Bowdabra Bow Maker. Today, I’m going to show you how to make this cute take on an awareness ribbon, but we’ve just maybe fancied it up a little bit. So, let’s get started.”
First, I’m going to start by just taking my really pretty peace ribbon. And I have this piece of grosgrain, and I’m just going to finish peeling off my Peel and Stick. Then, I’m just going to fuse this right here onto my ribbon. So, it’s really nice because the Peel and Stick is pretty hardy and will hold very well. I’ve already done it on this piece.
So, we’re going to do this bow in two parts. I’m going to take a piece of my Bowdabra Bow Wire and just fold it in half. And I’m going to just lie this down into my Mini Bowdabra. Now, to make my awareness part of this ribbon, I’m just going to fold it in half, and then I’m going to take this ribbon here and just scrunch it right-side-up, and I’m going to fold this back over, and I’m just going to, again, do this little like mountain-up and scrunch in it.
Now, I’ve already dovetailed the ends. If you’re not familiar with how to dovetail, we fold the ribbon in half, and then I just cut at an angle from the corner into the fold. So now, I’m going to just take this and pull it through the loop. Next, I pull it out of my Mini Bowdabra. I’m going to separate the ends and bring it around to the back and I’m just going to tie a double-knot. Then I tie one more knot. And then, I’m going to clip this and just set it aside while I make the second part of this bow.
So, this awareness ribbon pin is really very simple to make. Next, I’m going to take this piece. And the reason that I’m making this in two pieces, is because they’re going to go in different directions. Let me find my Bowdabra Bow Wire, fold it in half and I’m just going to lay this down into my Mini Bowdabra and get everything out of my way.
And now, what I’m going to do is just make a regular bow. So, I’m going to take the right side of my ribbon and just kind of do my little mountain-up and scrunch that into my Mini Bowdabra. Again, take the right side of the ribbon. And what I love about the Peel and Stick is it holds the ribbon exactly where I want it. So now, I’ll do one more little mountain-up.
Then, I’m going to take my tulle. I’m just going to scrunch this into my Mini Bowdabra and push it down right there. Next, I’m going to take my gold beads and just lay those into my Mini. Let me put that down there. And now, I’m going to grab my Bowdabra Bow Wire and pull it through my slipknot. Pull it tight while it’s still in my Mini. Then, bring it out and separate the ends. Now, I’m going to bring it around to the back, and I’m going to tie a knot.
Now, you could use this bow all by itself, just as a little hairbow, and just tie it onto an alligator clip or a ponytail holder. What I’m going to do, however, is take this ribbon, which I want going up and down, and I’m just going to tie this onto it, so both ribbons are tied together.

Finally, I’m going to double knot that just for extra security. Now, I have this pin back, and it’s an adhesive pin back, so I’m just going to pull the adhesive off. I’m going to put it right here on the back of my Bowdabra. And I’m going to clip the ends on the back of my bow. And I have this really cute awareness ribbon pin that I guess it’s peace awareness. We want peace everywhere.
