Gift wrap headband
- 24” Silver Bowdabra Wire
- (8) 6” x 11” Varied Color Tulle
- (3) 0.5” x 5.5” Green Ribbon
- (2) 1.5” x 3.5” Wired Peach Ribbon
- 1.5” x 2.5” Pink Wired Organza Ribbon
- 2.5” Blue Corker Ribbon
Now we’re going to make this adorable headband that doubles as gift wrap. So, I’m going to start with my Bowdabra. I’m going to fold my wire in half and lay it down into my Bowdabra and just tuck the ends underneath. Now I’ve cut a whole bunch of pieces of tulle, and all I’m going to do is to put a knot in the end. They’re all a little different as far as how long they are. Then, put another knot at the end of this one here.
You don’t have to watch me make all of them. So I’ve already knotted them. I’m just going to lay a whole bunch, and I just did assorted colors of tulle, and just lay them down in here.
Add the leaves
So now, I have these leaves. and I’ve cut and made them pointed. I’m just going to lay this down into my Bowdabra. Then I’m going to take another one and I’m going to kind of shape this. Next, we’re going to make a really pretty flower in the middle of this.
Next, we’re going to just lay this down in here. Now these, I’ve curved, because these are my petals. So, just lay that in the center. Then I take another one and just lay it in the center. I have this really cute little organza pink that I’ll lay there. And I have one more. Now the one trick to this is that these are all wired ribbons.
Add the corker ribbon
Next, I have my little corker ribbon. I’ll lay that down there. So, these are all wired ribbon, which makes it easier to shape your flower. So now, I’m going to just take this here, pull it tight while it’s still in the Bowdabra. And you could make this in the Mini Bowdabra also. So, I’m just going to pull this out and I’m going to separate the ends, bring it around to the back. And I’m just going to knot it.
Finishing your gift wrap headband
To finish, what I’m going to do is I’m going to take my headband, and here’s where the seam of my headband is. So, I’m going to bring it in right on one side of the seam, and bring my wire through, and then bring the same piece of wire right back through on the other side of my seam. That way, when I tie it off, no wire’s going to be against a little girl’s head. So, we’re just going to tie that, and I’m going to knot that off again and tie a double knot.
And clip the ends right here. And now I have to shape my bow. So, let’s just get these pieces of wire out of here. I’m going to basically pull everything up because that will help my flower shape the way that I want to shape it. We’ll just shape this out here and like that. Now you can see how it becomes a really pretty flower. Finally, I take this really funky headband and I just put it around my box. So, it doubles as a really fun gift wrap headband that then the little girl can wear.
