“Hi, I’m Sandy Sandler, the creator of the Bowdabra Bow Maker. Today, I’m going to show you how to make this beautiful ribbon choker necklace, so let’s get started.”
First, I’m going to start, with the Mini Bowdabra. I’m going to take some Bowdabra Bow Wire and I’m just going to cut a piece. I’m going to make it a little bit longer than normal because I’m going to have to pull it through my little brooch that we’re using. So, I’m going to just fold this in half, lay it into my Mini Bowdabra, and just tuck the ends underneath.
Add the pearls
Then, I have this 18-inch string of pearls, and I’m going to just fold it in half and find the center, and then I’m just going to lay this into my Mini Bowdabra.
Next, I have these two beautiful ribbons, and we’re going to dovetail the ends. To dovetail, we just fold it in half and cut at an angle from the corner to the fold, and that gives you really nice tails.
Now, what I’m going to do is put this other sheer floral ribbon, it’s really, really pretty, and put that on top of the white ribbon. Then, what I’m going to do is just find the center and just scrunch it upside-down into my Bowdabra. Now, I’m going to fold this back and I’m going to just scrunch that in there. And if you have the hair bow tool and ruler, then you definitely can use the measuring tool to make it exact. And then, I’m going to fold this back over and just scrunch that in there.
Next, what I’m going to do is take my three little flowers and lay those in. And I’m just going to scrunch everything in here. I take my Bow Wire, pull it through my slipknot, pull it tight while it’s still in my Mini Bowdabra. I’m going to pull it out. You heard that snap because it was like really wide with the pearls.
Add the brooch
Then, I’m going to bring this around to the back and I’m going to knot it and double-knot it. And I’m going to now bring it back around to the front, and I’m going to take this really pretty brooch, and I’m going to just find the bottom. Okay, so here’s the bottom. So, I’m going to pull this through the bottom. And then, it’s a double layer, so I’m just going to bring it around here and just kind of bring it through this part here. Now, you can see, I’m just weaving it back. And so, that’s going to hold it really tight in the center.I’m just going to go back around to the back and tie a knot.
So, you can see, this is just a very, very simple way to make a little ribbon choker necklace. We’re going to double-knot it and knot it one more time. And I’m going to clip it really close in here. Shape the bow out and bring the flowers around.
Finishing your necklace
If you’re a jewelry maker you’re a jewelry maker then you could put a clasp here, but I’m not a jewelry maker, so I just have this little piece of ribbon. And I’m just going to be able to use my ribbon. I’m just going to knot it here. And then when I wear it I can just tie it on the back of my neck into a little bow. And you have this beautiful but really elegant and simple ribbon choker necklace.
