In this replay of a live-streamed video, Sandy Sandler, the creator of Bowdabra shows you how to make a quick gift wrap bow. Since you are using scrap ribbon to make this bow why not make several and put them away so that when Christmas rolls around, you will have plenty for your gift wrap needs.
Super Quick gift wrap Bow with Bowdabra
- Bowdabra bow wire
- Wide scrap ribbon
- Sheer wire edge ribbon scraps
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Fold it in half and lay it in the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other. This will be your slipknot.
Next, take the first piece of wide ribbon and insert it from the top folding into the Bowdabra like an accordion. Continue pushing the ribbon in the bowdabra till you reach the end.
Now, take the two, wire edge ribbon scraps that you have already dovetailed the ends. (To dovetail fold the ribbon in half and cut from the fold to the open end) Then, fold in half to find the center and insert each piece into the Bowdabra.
Scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.
Finally, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Remove from the Bowdabra, turn to the back and tie a knot. Double knot it.
You have a gorgeous and quick gift-wrap bow!
