How to make a stunning two-color satin ribbon hair bow

What is more elegant and stunning than a satin ribbon hair bow?  And when you make it with two colors of your choice it would be great for any event, holiday, or gift. This hair bow would be great as a cheer bow, to show your team colors. And it will be equally great in red and green for a great Christmas gift idea! Since this hair bow uses small pieces of satin ribbon it’s a great way to use up those ribbon scraps.  You could even make it six different colors!

Materials:

First, cut satin ribbon 8” x 1 ½” strips, four of the main color, and two of the coordinating color.

Next, take two of one color strip and one of the opposite color strip.  Line the strips up alternating the colors.  (See photo)

Cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire.  Fold it in half and place it in the Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other.  This will be your slip knot.

Now, pinch the loop ends of the three pieces of ribbon and insert it into the Bowdabra.  Repeat this step on the opposite side.  Scrunch down with the Bowdabra wand.

Then, insert the two loose bow wires through the loop, and while the bow is still in the Bowdabra, pull tight.  Separate the ends, remove from the Bowdabra and turn to the back and tie a knot.  Tie a double knot.  Trim the excess ribbon ends from the front of the bow an arrange the loops.

Cut a piece of sparkle ribbon and using the glue gun, attach all around the center of the bow. Glue an alligator clip on the back.
