How to:

Fold a 36″ piece of Bowdabra wire in half and lay in the Bowdabra. You’ll have a loop at one end and two loose pieces at the opposite end. Tuck ends under.
Cut two 36″ strips of the 4″ and 2.5″ wide ribbon, Center strip to create 18″ tails on each side. Dovetail the ends by folding the ribbon in half and cut at the fold on a 45-degree angle, and place down into the Bowdabra. Next, lay the white pine needle sprays into the Bowdabra, on opposite sides.

Next, crease the ribbon just before the end and insert it down into the Bowdabra. Then, fold over a six-inch loop and press into the Bowdabra.

Fold the ribbon on the opposite side, making a six-inch loop, inserting it down.

Fold and insert one more loop on each side for a total of four loops, making sure to scrunch down the ribbon using the Bowdabra wand.

Since there is a right and wrong side for the 2.5″ wide ribbon, we will make a fold and twist bow. Pinch the end of the ribbon and place it down into the Bowdabra. Fold and twist the ribbon, creating the first loop.

Then fold and twist the ribbon on the opposite side creating another loop. Fold and twist ribbon down into the Bowdabra on each side for a total of four loops. Scrunch down using the Bowdabra wand.

Then, take assorted ornaments and thread chenille stems through two groups of ornaments. Insert the chenille stems down into the Bowdabra, adjusting the ornaments.

Finishing your Bow swag

While the bows, sprays, and ornaments are still in the Bowdabra, tie off the swag by threading the two loose ends of the bow wire through the loop at the other end. Pull the bow wire tightly before removing the entire bow swag from the Bowdabra. Bring the wire ends around to the back of the swag. Tie in a couple of knots to secure tightly.

Tie the bow swag onto the top of the lantern using the Bowdabra wire to secure. Fluff all of the bows and ribbon and adjust the ornaments and sprays for a beautiful bow swag lantern!
