Do you want your gifts this Christmas to be show-stopping? Well, watch this video as Bowdabra creator, Sandy Sandler, shows you how easy it is to make this beautiful DIY butterfly bow for gift wrap in minutes. Let’s get started!
How to make a beautiful butterfly bow
First, prepare your ribbon ends by dovetailing them. To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut from the fold to the corner.
Next, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire, fold it in half and insert it into the Mini Bowdabra. Tuck the ends under the Bowdabra so they stay out of the way while you make your butterfly bow.
Now, place your tails into the Mini Bowdabra. Next, take the right side of the ribbon and twist it so the wrong side of the ribbon is facing up.
Then, fold it back over, twist, and I’m going to do the same thing on the other side and twist.
Now, graduate the loops going in, so that they are a little bit smaller and smaller twisting the ribbon as you go.
Finally, end it with a loop on top. Now, for the tricky part, bring your wire through the top loop. Scrunch everything down. Separate the ends and bring one wire through the loop and one behind it. Pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Tie a knot, then tie another knot for extra security.
As a finishing touch shape the loops of the butterfly bow and use it to decorate your packages, home décor, and more.
