How to make a super fun St. Patrick’s Day Fedora

  • Mini Bowdabra
  • 18” Gold Bowdabra Wire
  • 2.5” x 6.5” Gold Wired Ribbon
  • 1.5” x 5.5” Bowdabra Green Wired Mesh
  • 1.5” x 19” Bowdabra Black and White Houndstooth Ribbon
  • Bowdabra Green Sheer and Satin Flowers
  • 1” x 24” Bowdabra Gold Rhinestone Mesh
  • Green Fedora Hat

First, take the fedora and then some of Bowdabra rhinestone mesh ribbon. Cut the ribbon from eight rows across to five rows. Then, glue it to the fedora starting at the back of the hat.  Bring it all around the hat ending where you began.  Put the hat aside.

Next, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire.  Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Mini Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side.  This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the end under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.

Now, take the gold wire edge ribbon pieces that you’ve already cut and dovetailed; fold them in half to find the center, and scrunch them down into the Mini Bowdabra. (And just in case you don’t know how to dovetail, what you do is fold your ribbon in half, and then cut at a diagonal from the corners into the fold). Then, just scrunch the ribbon down into the Mini Bowdabra. Repeat with the other two pieces of ribbon.

Add the pick

Next, take a piece of green wired mesh, fold it in half and then just place it down into the Mini Bowdabra. Scrunch everything down.

Now, take the houndstooth pattern black and white ribbon and fold it in half. Fold it in half to find the center and insert it into the Bowdabra with the right side facing down. And then,  fold the ribbon over placing the right side of the ribbon down into my Bowdabra. Next, make an X bringing one side of the ribbon over and under the loop and inserting the right side down. Now, take the bottom ribbon and scrunch that down. Then, take the top ribbon, and scrunch that down. So, you will have these cute four little loops.

Scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand one more time.  Next, take this adorable little sage pick. It’s a sheer satin with a rhinestone center. And then scrunch that down into the Mini Bowdabra. For good measure, push it down one more time with the wand.

Finishing your St. Patrick’s Day Fedora

Next, use the Bowdabra wand to push down all the ribbons and pick.  Then, take the two loose wires and put them through the loop, and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra.  Remove from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot.  Double knot it.

Fluff and arrange the bow. Take the hat and glue the bow onto it with some hot glue. You have this adorable super fun St. Patrick’s Day fedora!
