How to create two super easy gifts for Father’s Day

You don’t have to buy expensive gifts for Father’s Day to give Dad something nice. If you wrap your gifts with either one of these presentation ideas/methods, Dollar Store items along with 1-2 awesome gifts are sure to WOW your Dad! Also, this is a thoughtful way to customize a gift to let that special someone know how much you care about them with their one-of-a-kind gift!

Super easy gifts for Father’s Day

This tutorial is for two different types of gift baskets. The gifts I’ve used are just examples; you choose and customize what you like for yours. The first example is a Gift Pack that we wrap without a basket; the second example is a Gift Basket for the person whose eyes get bigger than their basket, lol! We will be using two different types of wrapping and making a matching Bowdabra Bow.
These baskets could be theme-oriented, such as Movie Night, Fishing, Grilling, or a thoughtful potpourri of all of Dad’s favorite things. There are no rules or limits to these kinds of gifts!

Gift Pack Supplies:

  • 6 pack of glass bottled drinks in a carton or the plastic bottles/cans
  • Shrink Wrap Bag
  • Large Bowdabra and Bowdabra Wire
  • Zip ties
  • Ribbon of your choice
  • Flower pick for bow, optional
  • Gift Wrapping Shred
  • Gifts, candy, etc…
  • Scissors

Gift Basket Cornucopia Style:

  • Dollar Store Plastic Basket or similar
  • Packing Tape
  • 10″ Clear Plastic Liner, tray, etc…
  • Large Bowdabra and Bowdabra Wire
  • Zip ties
  • Ribbon of your choice
  • Flower pick for bow, optional
  • Gift Wrapping Shred
  • Clear Cellophane long enough to cover the basket (I used 36″ length)
  • Gifts, candy, etc…
  • Scissors

To make the movie-themed gift pack, first, use a six-pack carton for the base.  Then, add some wrapping shred. Now, start placing the items of your choice in the bag.  Make sure that you place the items so that they can be seen.  It’s like working on a puzzle.  Tape and glue dots may be necessary to hold things in place.

Next, pull the cellophane or shrink wrap up to the top nice and tight.  Then, use a blow dryer to shrink the wrap.  Be careful not to get too close to the wrap or you may burn a hole in it.  Trim the top.

Make the bow

Place Bow wire in the Bowdabra. Using two colors of ribbon, make bows with three loops on each side. Use the slip knot to tie the bows.  Remove the bows and fluff and arrange.  Attach the bow to the top of the gift pack.

Cornucopia gift basket

For the second gift, get a basket and a plant liner.  Place the plant liner in the basket sideways.  Fill with shred.  Set the basket on the cellophane.

Now, start building your gift basket by adding items of your choice letting it spill out for a cornucopia look.  Carefully wrap the gift basket tucking the overlapping pieces with some wrapping tape.  Finally, create and add your bow as you did on the other basket.
