Video how to make a stunning Christmas swag
- Burlap ribbon #1252 In lengths of, 2 ½ wide
- Lengths of burlap ribbon in natural, moss, and red, 6”, 23”, 30 ½”, 24 ½”, 32”, 25”
- Poinsettia Pick
- Evergreen Greenery Pick
- Bowdabra bow wire
First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow. Make sure you cut the Bowdabra wire faily long so you can use it to attach to your door or mantle.
Next, take the evergreen pic and scrunch that into the Bowdabra. Then, take the poinsettia pick and lay that in the Bowdabra as well.
Add the ribbons
Prepare your supplies by dovetailing the ends of the ribbon. (To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold.)
Now start with the natural color ribbon and lay that in the Bowdabra. Follow with the green ribbon, and then, red ribbon.
Now, with the longer piece of natural burlap ribbon, twist to make sure the wrong side is on the inside of the loops and lay it in the Bowdabra. Go back and forth making loops twisting as you go. Repeat this step with the longer piece of red ribbon.
Next, take the shortest piece of moss green ribbon and insert into the Bowdabra from the top scrunching down like an accordion.
Finishing your swag
Separate the towers and use the wand to scrunch down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
To finish, shape out and arrange the bow.
