  • Bowdabra bow wire
  • Lengths of white and gingham check ribbon
Instructions:

funky bow

First cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire.  Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side.  This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.

Dovetail all the ribbon strips. To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold.

Now, working with strips of the white and gingham check ribbons together, fold in half, and lay it in the Bowdabra. Gingham check on top of white ribbon.

Next, reverse the order of the ribbons for the white on top and repeat the step above.

Continue folding in half and lay the ribbon strips into the Bowdabra reversing the top ribbon as you go.

Finally, take the smallest two pieces of ribbon, fold in half, and lay them in the Bowdabra.

To finish, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.  Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot.  Tie a double knot for extra security.

Shape and arrange all the loops pulling them apart and laying them in the right direction.

Be sure and watch the next bow in the ongoing series of all the various bows that you can make with the Bowdabra!!
