You’ll need these supplies:

  • 36″ length of 6″ tulle
  • 8″ length of 7/8″ patterned satin ribbon
  • 18″ length of 1/8″ satin ribbon
  • 6″ length of coil ribbon
  • 1 toilet paper roll
  • 1 Valentine embellishment
  • 18″ length Bowdabra bow wire
  • Mini Bowdabra Bow Making and Design Tool
  • Hot glue and glue gun
  • Craft knife or scissors

Let’s make the Valentine Napkin Ring:

We’ll start by making the napkin ring.
  1. Measure and mark 1¼” widths on the toilet paper roll.
  2. With a craft knife, cut a ring from the roll along the marks.
  3. Secure one end to the tulle to the inside of the ring with hot glue.
  4. Wrap the tulle around the ring.
  5. Hot glue the end of the tulle to the inside of the ring. Trim any excess tulle, if necessary.
Now, let’s make the bow:
  1. Cut the ribbons to length, and pass the ends through a flame to seal them.
  2. Fold bow wire in half and put it in the Mini Bowdabra. Tuck the ends of the wire under the Mini Bowdabra to keep them out of the way.
  3. Place one end of the patterned ribbon face down in the Mini Bowdabra.
  4. Bring the other end up and over the pillar, and secure it in the Mini Bowdabra.
  5. Press the center of the ribbon loop into the Mini Bowdabra.
  6. With the 1/8″ ribbon make a bow with three loops on each side.
  7. Add the coil ribbon to the Mini Bowdabra.
  8. Compress the ribbons with the Mini Bowdabra wand.
  9. With the bow still in the Mini Bowdabra, pass the wire ends through the loop and tighten. Tie a knot on the reverse side. Leave the wire ends long for now.
  10. Hot glue the Valentine embellishment to the center of the bow.
  11. Trim the bow wires to about ½”.
  12. Hot glue the finished bow to the tulle-covered ring.
  13. Enjoy a Valentine dinner in grand style!!
