How to Make the Perfect St. Patrick’s Leprechaun Lure

Leprechauns will be out and about on March 17. Here’s your chance to catch one with this leprechaun lure. Leprechaun Lure

Gather these supplies for the Leprechaun Lure:

  • Toilet paper roll
  • Two craft sticks
  • Tissue paper
  • Cardstock
  • Leprechaun Lure Cut Outs
  • Double-sided tape
  • Hot glue and glue gun

Let’s make the Leprechaun Lure:

  1. Print the leprechaun lure cut outs on cardstock and cut out.
  2. Add double-sided tape to each of the narrow ends of the large rectangle.
  3. Expose one of the tape strips, and attach to the toilet roll. Wrap the paper around the toilet roll. Expose the other strip of tape, and secure in place.
  4. Hot glue the covered toilet roll to the center of the large circle.
  5. Thread the hatband through the buckle.
  6. Add a strip of double-sided tape to back of the hatband, and attach to the hat.
  7. Stuff the toilet paper roll with tissue paper, letting the paper slightly extend over the top. I just happened to have this green tissue left from Christmas, but white works just as well.
  8. To build the ladder, lay the craft sticks about ¾” apart. Now, glue the ladder rungs in place with hot glue or double-sided tape.
  9. Glue a coin and shamrock to the ladder to lure the leprechauns.
  10. Glue two coins on the hat brim.
  11. Nestle a few coins in the tissue paper. Secure with double-sided tape, if necessary.
  12. Prop the ladder against the hat, and wait for the leprechauns.
