How to make a super easy summer floral swag

Materials:

Bowdabra ribbons:

  • 2) 7564 Lemons and Blooms Wired Lime Ribbon 2.5”x24”
  • 7564 Lemons and Blooms Wired Lime Ribbon 2.5”x72”
  • (3) 918 Organza Ribbon – White 1.5”x24”
  • (2) Green Wired Satin Ribbon 1.5”x24”
  • (2) Green Wired Satin Ribbon 1.5”x17”
  • Hydrangea Pick
  • Blossom Pick
  • Bowdabra
  • Bowdabra bow wire

Instructions:

First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire.  Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side.  This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.

Next, lay in your hydrangea pick in the Bowdabra. Then, add the blossoms pick in the same manner.

Now add the two pieces of lemon and blooms ribbon to which you have already dovetail the ends. To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold.

Next, lay both pieces together of the green satin ribbon into the Bowdabra.  Follow by laying in the two pieces of organza ribbon.

Make the lemons and bloom ribbon bow

Now, take the longest piece of lemons and bloom ribbon, and twist and push into the Bowdabra. Fold it over to make a loop, twist and lay into the Bowdabra.  Continue folding and twisting until you have reached the end of your ribbon.

Next, take the green satin ribbon and place right side down, bring it over and insert in the Bowdabra.  Now push down the center to make a bow.  Repeat with the last piece of green satin ribbon.  Scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.

To finish, take the last piece of organza ribbon and scrunch down from the top to make a scrunchy bow.

Finishing your summer floral swag

Now, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand once again.  Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back, and tie a knot.  Tie a double knot for extra security.

Fluff and arrange your swag and hang on your door!   What an inexpensive, and easy summer décor!
