It’s Christmas in July here at Bowdabra and Sandy Sandler is here today to show you how you can make this adorable candy cane wreath in minutes for under $3!! And it’s so cute you will be getting compliments galore!
First, using the candy cane wreath form and the dollar tree garland, begin by folding it twice into the wreath end so it is tight. Next, wrap the garland around the length of the wreath. Make sure that you cover the entire wreath form.
When you get to the end of the wreath pull the garland through and leave the excess hanging down. Set aside.
Now, make the bow. Cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, take two pieces of 12” long ribbon that you have already dovetailed the ends and place them together into the Bowdabra. (To dovetail, fold the ribbon in half and cut at an angle away from the fold.)
Then, take two long pieces of the same ribbon and twist and place them into the Bowdabra making sure the right side is facing up. Continue twisting and making loops to the end of the ribbon.
Finally, add the mistletoe berry pick.
Now scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
To finish, fluff and arrange the bow. Then, using the excess wire tie it to the candy cane wreath in a bow. This way if someone wants to keep the bow they can remove it easily.
