How to Make an Elegant Bracelet Combining Tulle and Mesh Ribbons

Elegance doesn’t have to be pricey. You can make this ribbon jewelry bracelet using tulle ribbon and mesh ribbon. It makes the perfect fashion accessory.Tulle and Mesh Ribbon Bracelet

Gather these supplies

  • Two 9″ lengths 6″ tulle ribbon
  • One 9″ length ¼” round mesh ribbon
  • Three focal beads with large holes
  • Two ball caps
  • Two jump rings
  • One lobster claw clasp
  • E6000 adhesive
  • Jewelry pliers

Let’s make the bracelet:

  1. Attach the lobster claw clasp to one ball cap with a jump ring. Attach the second jump ring to the other cap. Directions for opening and closing jump rings are at the bottom of this post.
  2. Measure the length of the jewelry findings.
  3. Measure the wrist circumference. This should be how tight or loose you want the finished bracelet. If you don’t have a tape measure, wrap a thin strip of paper around your wrist, and mark the desired circumference on the paper. Then, use a ruler to measure the marked length for  your bracelet.
  4. Subtract the measurement of the findings from the wrist circumference measurement. Then, add ½”. This is the length you’ll cut the tulle and mesh ribbons.
  5. Thread the focal beads onto the mesh ribbon, and space evenly along the length of the mesh ribbon.
  6. Bundle the tulle and mesh ribbons. Tightly wrap one end with tape about ¾” to 1″ from the end. Trim the bundle to ¼”.
    Add the jewelry findings

  7. Fill one ball cap half full with E6000.
  8. Push/twist the bundled ribbons into the ball cap until the cap meets the tape. You may need to use an awl or toothpick to get them snugly into the ball cap. Set the bracelet aside until the glue dries. Drying may take longer than normal since the adhesive is enclosed in the ball cap with little air circulation.
  9. After the adhesive is dry, fold the lengths of tulle ribbon into thirds, and again into thirds. You may need to clamp the first length of tulle to keep it folded. Binder clips and pinch clothes pins make great clamps.
  10. Repeat the bundling, wrapping, trimming, and gluing from Steps 6 and 7 on this second end.
  11. Again, set aside to dry. Carefully remove the tape at each end securing the ribbon bundles.
  12. Enjoy wearing your tulle and mesh ribbon bracelet.

How to open and close jump rings:

  1. Use a pair of jewelry pliers, one in each hand. Hold the jump ring in the pliers with the opening on top.
  2. Twist the pliers in opposite directions—one side away from you; one side toward you.
  3. To close the jump ring, hold the pliers and jump ring as pictured above and twist the pliers to close the ring.
