Materials:
  • 6-Sunflowers cut from a bush (Hobby Lobby)
  • Two Hydrangea bushes (Dollar Tree)
  • One Spiky floral bush (Dollar Tree)
  • Small eucalyptus bush (Dollar Tree)
  • Small fern bush (Dollar Tree)
  • Fall Pick (Hobby Lobby)
  • Large Bowdabra
  • Bowdabra bow wire
  • Ribbon: 60 inches of the 2 1/2’ ”wide gold gleam
  • Orange plaid ribbon 2 ½” wide
  • 60 inches of the 1 ½” wide fall sheer copper ribbon.
  • 3-13 inch tails of all three ribbons, dovetailed

Instructions:

First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire.  Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side.  This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow. Make sure you cut the wire long enough to use for attaching to a wreath or lantern if desired.

Next, take the fern and lay that in the Bowdabra. Then take the eucalyptus and lay that in the Bowdabra as well.  Now, add the floral picks and add them on each side.  Continue by adding the hydrangeas on each side as well.

Next, add a few sunflowers equally on each side of the Bowdabra.  Finally, add the pumpkin pick.

Now, take three short pieces of each of the ribbons and dovetail the ends. Add them to the Bowdabra.

Now, take the long pieces of gleam ribbon and plaid ribbon and working with both ribbons together twist so that the gleam ribbon is on the inside, and place it in the Bowdabra.  Continue folding and twisting to make loops to the end.

Now, twist and add the swirl copper ribbon twisting and making loops to the end for a slightly smaller bow.

Take your wand and scrunch everything down. Insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot.  Tie a double knot for extra security.

You have a beautiful fall floral door swag that you can use by itself or tie to a wreath, lantern, or whatever you choose!
