Here are the supplies that you’ll need:

  • Mini Bowdabra Bow Making and Design Tool
  • 15″ length Bowdabra bow wire
  • 2′ length 3″ tulle (color to coordinate with patterned grosgrain ribbon)
  • Three 4″ lengths winter patterned grosgrain ribbon
  • 5′ length ¼” white satin ribbon
  • 4′ length 1/8″ satin ribbon (color to coordinate with patterned grosgrain ribbon)
  • Snowflake charm
  • Dinner napkin

Let’s make the Winter Dinner Party Silverware Wrap:

  1. Make the corkscrew ribbons:
  • Spiral the ribbons around a large knitting needle, skewer, or dowel rod. Use a larger rod for the ¼” ribbon, and a small one for the 1/8″ ribbon.
  • Secure the ribbon ends with pinch clothes pins.
  • Mist with water.
  • Arrange on a lined baking sheet. Bake in the oven at 250° F for 20 minutes.
  • After the ribbons are cool, gently slide off the skewer or dowel.
  • While maintaining the corkscrew coils, cut the ¼” ribbon into 5 lengths about 3″ long. Cut the 1/8″ ribbon into 4 lengths about 2½” long.
  • Quickly pass the ribbon ends through a flames to seal the ends.
  1. Fold the 15″ bow wire in half and put it in the Mini Bowdabra. Tuck the ends of the wire under the Mini Bowdabra to keep them out of the way.
  2. Next, scrunch the tulle into the Mini Bowdabra with the narrow end parallel to the Bowdabra base.
  3. Next, layer the grosgrain ribbon spikes on top of the tulle.
  4. Add the ¼” corkscrew ribbons.
  5. Add the 1/8″ corkscrew ribbons.
  6. Compress the tulle and ribbons with the Mini Bowdabra wand.
  7. With the tulle and ribbons still in the Mini Bowdabra, pass the wire ends through the loop, and tighten. Bring the wires to the back side of the bow and tie a knot. Leave the wire ends long.
  8. Fluff the bow and arrange individual ribbons. Using two ends of the 1/8″ corkscrew ribbons, tie the snowflake charm in place.
  9. Fold the napkin into a rectangle. Lay the silverware at one of the narrow ends and roll the napkin around the silverware, making a tidy bundle.
  10. Use the wire ends of the bow to tie it around the bundle.
