This Christmas night light is an easy craft for young artists. I’ve used red as my choice of holiday color, but any color would work. And, I found almost all the supplies at a local dollar store.
Here’s what you’ll need for the night light:
- 1-pint craft jar
- Mesh ribbon LED light strip
- One 12″ length 6″ red glitter tulle
- One 6″ length 6″ red glitter tulle
- Patterned ribbon (I used an 8″ length for my jar)
- Jingle bell ornament
- Strong adhesive (i.e., E6000, hot glue)
- Double-sided tape
Here are the easy steps:
- If necessary, install batteries in the LED light strip.
- Gently crumple the 6″ piece of tulle and place in the bottom of the jar.
- Place a few strips of double-sided tape on the battery case of the LED light strip.
- Coil the mesh light strip around the battery case.
- Fold the 12″ length of tulle in half lengthwise, and wrap it around the battery case and LED lights.
- Place the light/tulle bundle in the jar. Be sure the on/off switch is at the top.
- Place a strip of double-sided tape on the reverse side of the patterned ribbon.
- Add the ribbon to the jar.
- Using strong adhesive, glue the ornament to the center of the lid.
- Enjoy your Christmas night light.
