How to Make the Perfect Festive Christmas Night Light

This Christmas night light is an easy craft for young artists. I’ve used red as my choice of holiday color, but any color would work. And, I found almost all the supplies at a local dollar store.Christmas Night Light

Here’s what you’ll need for the  night light:

  • 1-pint craft jar
  • Mesh ribbon LED light strip
  • One 12″ length 6″ red glitter tulle
  • One 6″ length 6″ red glitter tulle
  • Patterned ribbon (I used an 8″ length for my jar)
  • Jingle bell ornament
  • Strong adhesive (i.e., E6000, hot glue)
  • Double-sided tape

Here are the easy steps:

  1. If necessary, install batteries in the LED light strip.
  2. Gently crumple the 6″ piece of tulle and place in the bottom of the jar.
  3. Place a few strips of double-sided tape on the battery case of the LED light strip.
  4. Coil the mesh light strip around the battery case.
  5. Fold the 12″ length of tulle in half lengthwise, and wrap it around the battery case and LED lights.
  6. Place the light/tulle bundle in the jar. Be sure the on/off switch is at the top.
  7. Place a strip of double-sided tape on the reverse side of the patterned ribbon.
  8. Add the ribbon to the jar.
  9. Using strong adhesive, glue the ornament to the center of the lid.
  10. Enjoy your Christmas night light.
