How to Make the Best Puzzle to Ring in the New Year

Happy New Year!! Kids will love creating their own New Year’s kid’s craft puzzle using craft sticks. There are two template options—one is a coloring page the young artist can color and the other is already colored.

How to make a kid’s craft puzzle

You’ll need these supplies:

• Happy New Year templates
• 12 craft sticks
• Painter’s tape or masking tape
• Double-sided tape
• Craft knife

Let’s make the Happy New Year kid’s craft puzzle:

1. Print the Happy New Year template. Cut out your choice of pictures following the cutting line. The picture should measure 4¼” x 4¼”.
2. Cover the back side of the print with double-sided tape, but don’t expose the adhesive just yet.
3. Line up the twelve craft sticks. It is helpful to use a ruler or another craft stick to get the sides even.
4. Hold the craft sticks in place with a strip of painter’s or masking tape.
5. Turn the craft sticks over.
6. Now it’s time to expose the adhesive on the double-sided tape.
7. Position the picture on the craft sticks.
8. Turn the puzzle over, and remove the painter’s tape.
9. Use a craft knife to slice between each craft stick. Younger crafters may need an adult to do this step of the puzzle.
