These are the supplies you’ll need:

Let’s get started making the Valentine Heart No Sew Pillow:

  1. Print the heart pillow pattern. You’ll use this pattern twice to cut two hearts.
  2. Choose the fabric for your pillow. Pretty much any non-woven fabric will work—t-shirts and sweatshirts are perfect as are polar fleece items like bathrobes. Think about clothing items that are out-grown. This heart pillow is a great way to extend the life of a favorite garment. (If you’re going to purchase fabric you’ll need a length 15″ x 30″.)
  3. Fold the fabric in two. Place the pattern on the fabric fold, and cut on the solid line. Use pins or weights to hold the pattern in place. Or, cut out the pattern, place it on the folded fabric, and trace around the shape, then cut the fabric. Cut a second heart.
  4. Next, lay the hearts on top of each other, and cut the fringe around the outer edges. The fringe should be about 1¾” long and ½” to ¾” wide.
  5. Now, begin tying the fringes together—one fringe from the top heart and the corresponding fringe from the bottom heart. Work your way around the heart tying the fringe as you go. Don’t forget to leave an opening for stuffing your pillow.
  6. Stuff the pillow with plastic grocery bags.
  7. Finish tying the remaining fringes, and you’ve got a Valentine Heart No Sew Pillow!!
