How to make a playful Bowdabra ponytail holder from an affordable dollar store lei

Bowdabra ponytail holder

Hey guys, it’s Lexi from the Bowdabra Design Team! Today, I’m going to show you how to make a super cute Flower Bowdabra Ponytail holder by using Dollar Tree Lei’s and the Mini Bowdabra. It’s really easy and you can make it all by yourself too. So, let’s get started and have some fun making our own one-of-a-kind hair accessory!

Materials:

Large petal lei

Small petal lei

Elastic ponytail holder

Small bead

Bowdabra Bow Wire

Mini Bowdabra

Instructions:

First, cut a length of Bowdabra bow wire, fold it in half and lay it in the Mini Bowdabra. Tuck the ends underneath while you make your bow.

Next, prepare your flower petals.  Cut six of the flowers from the larger lei.  Then snip off one of the petals. Now, begin stacking the petals one at a time. After stacking all six petals scrunch down with the Bowdabra wand.

Remove three flowers from the small lei and begin stacking as you did with the larger ones. Please note that the petals will not lie flat which adds to the floral look.

To finish, thread the loose wires through the looped end and pull tight while the flower is still in the Bowdabra.  Remove, turn to the back and tie a knot. Bring the wire back to the front and thread a bead on the wire. Then, pull the wires back to the back and tie a knot.  Use the excess wires to tie the flower onto a hair elastic. Fluff out your flower and you have a gorgeous and playful Bowdabra ponytail holder!

And there you have it, your very own Bowdabra Ponytail Bow made using Dollar Tree Lei’s and Mini Bowdabra! With plenty of leftover petals, you can make tons more of those adorable flowers. Don’t stop with just a ponytail holder, tie some on your flip flops too! Thanks for joining me today, and I hope you had fun making this cute and easy DIY hair accessory.
