Video guide – How to easily make a fun Halloween wreath with Bowdabra

Hi, I’m Lexi from the Bowdabra design team, and I’ve got an awesome kid friendly, fun Halloween wreath ! It’s super cool and really easy to make. Let’s dive right in and create some awesome spooky decor.

fun halloween wreath

Materials:

2 – Packs of 60” x 30” Creepy (Cheese) Cloth

1 yard of 2.5” wide Twinkling Ribbon

8” piece of 4” wide Twinkling Ribbon

Light up eyes for pumpkin decorating or ping pong ball creepy eyes

6” Wire wreath form

Steering wheel cover

Single stem creepy rose or flower

Single black leaf clipped from a stem

Creepy glitter spider

Large Bowdabra

Bowdabra Bow Wire

Cool temp hot glue

Note: Dollar tree items

Instructions:

First, using a small wire wreath form, cover it with a steering wheel cover.  Then use the cheesecloth to wrap all around the covered wreath form. Tie the excess cloth into a knot on the back letting the ends hang, creating tails for your wreath.

Now create the embellishments for the wreath

First, cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire.  Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra.  You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side.  This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.

Next, lay in a rose and black leaf in the Bowdabra alternating one on each side. Now pull out the wire from the twinkling ribbon so that the ribbon will flow loosely.  Cut small pieces and pre-dovetail the ends.  Fold in half to find the center and place in the Bowdabra leaving a loop on one side and tails on the other.

Now, take another piece of cheesecloth and fold in half to find the center and place in the Bowdabra for more tails.

Next, take the longer piece of twinkling ribbon and place it in the Bowdabra, fold and twist to create loops for a bow. Scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then using a 4-inch wide piece of the black twinkly ribbon, fold the ends under and insert into the Bowdabra from the top pushing down like an accordion. This will make a scrunchy bow center.

Now scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand.  Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot.  Tie a double knot for extra security.  Use the excess wire to tie the bow to the wreath.  fluff and shape the bow.

Add the eyes to your spooky and fun Halloween wreath.

Finally, add the eyes to your fun Halloween wreath with a cool temp glue gun.  The cloth is thin enough that you can still use the switch if you are using the lighted eyes.  Then as a final touch add the glitter spider with some more glue.
