How to Make the Perfect Ribbon Streamer Thanksgiving Turkey Decoration

Gather these supplies:Supplies for Ribbon Streamer Turkey

  • Toilet paper roll
  • Patterned paper cardstock (shades of brown work really well)
  • Yellow and orange feathers
  • 10″ lengths of autumn colored ribbons
  • Yellow or orange felt scrap
  • Two googly eyes
  • 12″ length of twine or yarn
  • Liquid craft glue
  • Double-sided tape (optional)

Let’s make the ribbon streamer turkey:

  1. Measure circumference and height of the toilet roll, and cut the cardstock to fit.  Mine measured 5½” x 4¼”. Cut twine and ribbons to length. The number of ribbon lengths that you need will depend on the width of the ribbons.
  2. Using liquid glue or double-sided tape cover the toilet paper roll with the patterned paper or cardstock.Cover Toilet Roll with Patterned Paper
  3. Pierce two hole at the top of the roll, and thread the twine through the holes. Secure with knots on the inside of the roll.Add Twine Hanger to Top of Toilet Roll
  4. Glue or tape the ribbons to the inside bottom of the roll.Glue Ribbons to Inside of Toilet Roll
  5. Glue the feathers to the top front of the roll.Glue Feather to Inside Top of Toilet Roll
  6. Cut a small triangle from a felt scrap for the bead. Glue the beak and googly eyes in place.Glue Facial Features in Place
