Bowdabra

Beginners Guide: How To Make A Simple Ornament Spectacular

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here to share how I created a simple ornament and decorated it with the Bowdabra.

simple ornament

Supplies:

Bowdabra Bow Making Tool
Bow Wire
Natural Burlap
Rinea Foiled Paper
Foliage
Metal Ornament

Using the natural burlap, create a bow.

Place bow wire in the Bowdabra.
Place the burlap in the channel, leaving a 6″ tail.

Create 3 loops, twisting the burlap as it passes through the channel.
Make each loop a bit smaller than the one before.

Once the 3 loops are created, use the bow wand to push the burlap into the channel.
Next, pull up on the bow wire and tie off.

Fluff out the loops.
The natural burlap holds its shape nicely.

Select assorted foliage pieces and wrap together with floral tape.
Using the bow wire, tie the bow to the foliage.
Move the excess bow wire to the front to be used later in this project.

Now to prepare the ornament:

Adhere the foiled paper to the metal ornament.
Allow it to dry before proceeding.

Sand the edges of the ornament to remove excess foil and distress the edges.
Punch a hole in the top and thread the string.

Using a glue gun, add glue along the foliage behind the bow.
Place the foliage on the ornament and hold till the hot glue sets.
With the excess bow wire, tie a bell to the bow.
Twirl the remaining bow wire around a craft pick.

Place glue on the metal word and adhere to the ornament.
