How to Make Elegant Valentine Napkin Rings for a Cozy Dinner

Make a Valentine’s Day meal special with elegant napkin rings, but don’t tell anyone how quick and easy they are to make. Get the kids in on the celebration when they help to make these adorable napkin rings.

Valentine Napkin Ring

Supplies that you will need:

  • Toilet paper roll
  • 24″ length 6″ tulle
  • Valentine embellishments of your choice such as jewelry charms, rhinestones, metalwork hearts, etc.
  • Hot glue

Let’s make a Valentine’s napkin ring:

  1. Measure and mark a cut line on the toilet roll 1½” from the end.
  2. Cut along the measured line with scissors or a craft knife.
  3. With your fingers gather the 6″ end of the tulle.
  4. Hot glue this gathered end to the inside of the toilet roll.  Note: Hot glue is HOT. Adult help is necessary. However, liquid glue works just as well—just clamp the glued tulle  is place and let it dry thoroughly before moving on to the next step.
  5. Wrap the gathered tulle around the toilet roll, slightly overlapping the wraps as you work your way around the roll.
  6. Hot glue the end of the tulle to the inside of the roll. Or, use liquid glue, clamp the tulle in place, and let it dry thoroughly. Trim any excess, if necessary.
  7. Now you’ve transformed the toilet roll into a napkin ring, but we’re not finished yet.
  8. The final step is gluing your chosen embellishment to the napkin ring. I used plastic hearts from my craft stash.
