How to make:

First, begin by folding a 24″ piece of yarn in half and placing it down into the Bowdabra, tucking ends under.
Next, start with one color (red) of yarn on the roll and insert the yarn down into the Bowdabra leaving the end hanging out. Begin wrapping the yarn around the base of the Bowdabra .  .  .

sixty times.

Then insert the white yarn down into the Bowdabra just like you did the red and begin wrapping it around the Bowdabra .  .  .

sixty times, then cut the remaining yarn off.
Next, pick up the folded yarn underneath the wrapped yarn, threading the two loose ends through the loop, forming a slipknot  .  .  .

pull tightly and gently pull it out.

Once the wrapped yarn is out, tie the yarn as tightly as possible into a double or triple knot.

Then cut open the loops on both sides all the way around  .  .  .

make sure all loops are cut.

Then separate the colors, grouping them together and .  .  .
Shape the yarn into a heart using sharp scissors.
It’s best to cut off a little bit of yarn at a time so you won’t cut off more than you want to get the heart shape.

It’s beginning to take on a curve shape at the top and .  .  .

around the bottom, too!

How cool does this look after fluffing?

Adding a yarn loop to the top to complete the look!
See how easy it was to make this adorable heart-shaped pom pom? You can change the colors for gift wraps, weddings, and so much more.  This pom pom is truly for all occasions!
