Enhance a Lantern with the most beautiful Bowdabra bow

enhance a lantern
Enhance a lantern for Spring using the Bowdabra bow-making tool for a lovely decorative accent of florals and bows!

So let’s get started by gathering the following materials:
How to:
First, begin by folding a 24″ piece of Bowdabra bow wire in half and lay it in the Bowdabra, You’ll have a loop at one end and two loose wires at the opposite end. Tuck ends under. Then cut a 40″ inch strip of 2.5″ wired ribbon and fold it in half. Then pinch the middle of the ribbon strip and insert it down into the Bowdabra.

Next, cut a second strip of ribbon, 34″ long, folding it in half and pinching the middle to insert it down into the Bowdabra on top of the first ribbon strip.

Then, dovetail all the ribbon ends by folding the end ribbon of each one together and cutting at the fold on an angle down to the opposite ribbon edge.

You want the strips to look staggered.

Begin your bow by inserting the evergreens down into the Bowdabra.

And then the florals .  .  .

into the Bowdabra in a decorative arrangement.

Once satisfied with the floral display, it’s time to make the bow!

Crease the end of the matching ribbon on the roll, and place in the Bowdabra.
Since the design is on one side of this ribbon, fold a 5″ loop, creasing, and twisting the center of ribbon down into the Bowdabra.
Fold and twist ribbon to make a matching 5″ loop on the opposite side, down into the Bowdabra. Continue making two more loops on either side. Folding and creasing the center and twisting the ribbon into the Bowdabra for a total of six loops.

To finish the bow, make a button loop to cover the bow wire, then scrunch all the loops down using the Bowdabra wand and cut off excess ribbon..

Finishing your bow
While the bow is still in the Bowdabra, thread the loose ends of the bow wire through the loop and pull tight while gently pulling the bow and florals out.

Then, take the wire around to the back, tying the bow wire in two or three tight knots.

Next, tie the bow to the handle of the lantern in a double or triple knot to secure it.

Fluff and straighten the bow loops and florals on the lantern. Then stand back and admire your beautiful Spring Floral and Bow creation on the lantern!
