I’m so excited to share with you another version of my ribbon angel bow ornament, this time using a Bowdabra to make the angel bow wings. This lovely ornament is quick and easy to make and it’s so versatile that you can make it in any size using different types of ribbon and adjusting the measurements!

Materials needed:
2 1/2 yards of 2.5″ wide wired ribbon
1″ ball ornament for the head
Chenille stem for halo
Fabri-Tac Glue
Hot glue gun
Embellishments
Bowdabra, wire and wand

Begin by cutting five pieces of wired ribbon 7 1/2″ long.

Bring ends together, trying not to make a crease in ribbon.

Cut ribbon on the diagonal, approximately 1.25 inches from center fold to edge end.

The open five ribbons should be 7 1/2″ on one side and 2 1/2 inches on the other side, as pictured.

Bring the longest edges together to form a point, shaping into a cone.  Apply Fabri-Tac glue to underside of ribbon edge and seal together overlapping, matching points to form a cone shape.  Make sure opening can accommodate the shank of the ball ornament.

Repeat gluing together for the four remaining ribbon pieces. Smooth out any creases in the ribbon.  Glue the shank portion of the ball ornament into one of the ribbon cones for the angel head.

For the wings, fold a 24″ piece of Bowdabra wire in half and place in the Bowdabra, tucking ends under.

Make a bow by cutting a twelve inch piece of wired ribbon, bringing ends together with loops on both sides. Squeeze the center together and place into the Bowdabra.

Scrunch down the ribbon with the Bowdabra wand.

Grasp the loose ends of the Bowdabra wire and push through the loop.

Pull the bow wire tightly before removing the bow and tie into a knot in the back.

Fluff the bow.

Cut off excess wire and use it to create a hanger by making a loop and tying ends together into a knot. Hot glue knot to back of ball base. Hot glue bow on top of wire hanger.
Next, wrap a four inch piece of chenille stem into a circle and glue to back top of ball for halo.
