How to make a Valentine’s Day Gift basket and Bows with Bowdabra

Wondering how to create a DIY Valentine’s day gift basket? And want to make funky bows as you see in pictures? Look no further! Here Sandy Sandler, the creator of the Bowdabra shares her idea for a Dollar Store Valentine Gift mug and Scrunchy Bows you can add to your gifts or wreaths. If you’ve never done this before, you’re about to be surprised by how easy it really can be.

Materials required:

1. Sandy folds the bow wire and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
2. She takes all the Scrap ribbons and the dovetail pattern on the tail ends.
3. After dovetailing the tail ends, she adds 5-6 layers of scrap ribbons right into the Bowdabra.
4. She takes some tubular mesh and lays it down into the Bowdabra.
5. Next, she takes half a piece of gold scrunchy ribbon and scrunches it as a center into the Mini Bowdabra.
6. To secure the bow she brings the bow wire from one side to another and put a slip knot.
7. Sandy finishes off by fluffing the loops and attaches the gorgeous bow with the gift mug basket.

Materials required:

  • Dollar Store Mug
  • Some little fillers or garnishes
  • Gift basket plastic bag/wrap
  • One big Chocolate bar and few little chocolates
  • Two Flavored Coffees
  • Decorative picks

Follow these steps:

1. Sandy takes some little fillers and puts them right into the gift mug.
2. Then she puts the mug in a gift basket plastic bag and inserts a big chocolate bar inside the mug.
3. She inserts two flavored coffee packets and some little chocolates in it.
4. To give your beautiful gift basket the final touches, you can add some decorative picks.
5. In the end, she takes the plastic bag/wrap and fan it in from one side to another, and ties it up with the scrap ribbon bow.
Voila! You made a beautiful gift mug!

A Valentine wreath bow (Starts at 8:55)

Materials required:

Follow these steps:

1. Sandy folds the bow wire in half and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
2. She takes some flower picks and lays them down into the Bowdabra.
3. Using the red and white ribbon together, she cuts off a long tail and places the tail right into the Bowdabra.
4. Sandy creates 2 big loops on either side of the Bowdabra.
5. Next, She places the valentine ribbon and creates 5 loops on either side of the Bowdabra and 1 button loop.
6. She scrunches everything down and sticks some little silver roses in the center.
7. Finally, she secures the bow with several knots in the back and finishes off by fluffing the loops and cutting the dovetail pattern on the tail ends.
Now you can stick the bow securely with the wreath!

A Little Flower Bow (Starts at 16:03)

Materials required:

 

Follow these steps:

1. Sandy folds the bow wire in half and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
2. She adds 3 layers of the 6” green wired ribbon (for flower leaves) and place it right into the Bowdabra.
3. Next, she adds 3 layers of the 5½” white wired ribbon to make the flower petals and scrunch everything together.
4. She puts a little mesh in the middle and secures the bow with several knots in the back.
5. She finishes off by fluffing the loops and cutting the dovetail pattern on the tail ends.

A scrunchy bow for wedding gift wrap (Starts at 19:06)

Materials required:

Follow these steps:
1. Sandy folds the bow wire in half and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
2. She takes the gold scrunchy ribbon and scrunches it down in the middle of the Bowdabra.
3. She takes the silver scrunchy ribbon and scrunches it down right into the Bowdabra.
4. Again, she adds the gold scrunchy ribbon and scrunches it all down. Keep Scrunching!
5. Finally, she secures the bow with several knots in the back and finishes off by fluffing the loops.

Follow these steps:
1. Sandy folds the bow wire in half and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
2. After cutting off the tail (17”), she places the red scrunchy ribbon right into the Bowdabra and adds 4 loops.
3. She takes two pieces of the silver scrunchy ribbon and scrunch it down in the middle of the Bowdabra.
4. In the end, she secures the bow with several wire knots in the back and finishes off by fluffing the loops and cutting the dovetail pattern on the tail ends.
