Easy DIY Valentine’s Day Bows and Décor: Bowdabra Tutorial

DIY Valentine’s Day Gift Bow (Starts at 1:28)

Process:

  1. Sandy takes both the ribbons together, wraps them around the teddy bear, ties it off, and puts the bear aside.
  2. She folds the bow wire in half and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
  3. She holds both ribbons together, puts them in, and creates 5 loops and 1 button loop.
  4. She secures the bow with several wire knots in the back and finishes off by fluffing the loops.
  5. In the end, she ties the bow to the bear.

Process:

  1. Sandy folds the bow wire in half and tucks it underneath the Bowdabra.
  2. She holds two pieces of the 21” deco mesh and scrunches them down into the Bowdabra.
  3. She places four pieces of Chicago ribbons and one piece of net ribbon inside.
  4. She places silk and net ribbons together into the Bowdabra and creates 6 loops.
  5. She lays down a few beads (decorative picks) into the Bowdabra.
  6. She secures the bow with several wire knots in the back and finishes off by fluffing the loops.

  • Large Bowdabra
  • Greenery Picks
  • White-Gold Sheer Ribbon Roll
  • Gold-Brown Ribbon Roll

Process:

  1. Sandy lays down a few greenery picks into the Bowdabra.
  2. After cutting off the tails from both the ribbons (white-gold sheer and gold-brown ribbon), she lays them down into the Bowdabra.
  3. She lays down a decorative ornament into the Bowdabra.
  4. She places the gold-brown ribbon in and creates 7 loops.
  5. She places the white-gold sheer ribbon in and creates 9 loops.
  6. She lays down an ornament into the Bowdabra.
  7. She secures the bow with several wire knots in the back and finishes off by fluffing the loops and cutting the dovetail pattern on the tail ends.

Materials required:

  • 100-Yard Bowdabra Bow Wire
  • Mini Bowdabra
  • Grosgrain Pink Ribbon Roll
  • White Tulle Ribbon Roll
  • Decorative Ornament
  • Headband

  1. Sandy lays down a few greenery picks into the Bowdabra.
  2. She places two pieces of pink ribbon (15”) in and creates 4 loops.
  3. She holds the white tulle and scrunches it down into the Bowdabra.
  4. She lays down a little ornament into the Bowdabra.
  5. She secures the bow with several wire knots in the back and finishes off by fluffing the loops.
  6. In the end, she ties the bow to the headband.

  2. She places the red-white polka dot ribbon in and creates little 4 loops by making it look like an X shape.
  3. She holds the white and red tulle and scrunches them down into the Bowdabra.
  4. She lays down a little white pick into the Bowdabra.
  5. She secures the bow with several wire knots in the back and finishes off by fluffing the loops.
