Hi everyone! It’s Joette from the Bowdabra Design Team, back with another exciting tip from the florist. If you’re looking to add some color and charm to your home decor, this stunning and colorful rag bow is just what you need.
In our latest video, we’ll show you how to create a stunning large rag bow using the Bowdabra, and best of all, most of the items used are from Dollar Tree! Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or a beginner, this project is easy to follow and yields beautiful results. So, let’s grab our supplies and get started!
First cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire. Then, fold it in half and insert it into the Bowdabra. You will have a loop on one side and two loose wires on the other side. This will serve as your slipknot. Tuck the ends under to stay out of the way while you are making your bow.
Next, cut a Dollar tree grass skirt in half add it into the Bowdabra. Then, add the two quilting strips one at a time of two different color strips. Now, add the other half of the grass skirt.
Now take a strip of neutral Emilia fabric ribbon, fold in half and place in the Bowdabra with a loop on one side and tails on the other. Repeat this step once again. Repeat this step with quilting strips cut in half. Continue working loops and tail in this way with blue burlap ribbon. Finish this bow with some Chicago ribbon pushing from the top down scrunchy bow style.
Now, scrunch everything down with the Bowdabra wand. Then, insert the loose wires through the loop and pull tight while the bow is still in the Bowdabra. Then, remove the bow from the Bowdabra, separate the ends, turn to the back and tie a knot. Tie a double knot for extra security.
Fluff and arrange your bow. Now you can use your rag bow in various ways. Place it on a wreath or use it on a mantle or to decorate a door.
