DIY How to make a beautiful rustic winter patchwork tree

Together, we’ll dive into the magical world of creativity and make something truly special. Our mission? Creating a beautiful rustic Patchwork Winter Tree that’s bursting with charm.

This is the perfect piece of decor when transitioning from the Christmas season to Winter. And guess what? We’re going to add a gorgeous Bowdabra bow to give it an extra touch of elegance. So grab your crafting supplies, let your imagination run wild, and get ready for a whimsical project that’ll bring warmth and joy to your home. Let’s get started!

Materials:

Wood tree cut out
Wood slat
Cardboard
Chalk paint- Plaster & Moss
Acrylic paint- Gilded Oak
Antique wax

For the Bow:

Neutral ribbon
Muslin
Cheesecloth

Bell
Greenery
Pinecones

Instructions:

First, base coat your tree and stand. Next, use the tree to trace out pieces for the patchwork on the cardboard.

Pell off a layer of the cardboard so that the corrugation. Add some paint on top of the cardboard.

Dry brush some green and gold paint on top of the tree to just give it a hint of color. Brush some green and gold onto the patchwork pieces as well. Lightly sand the tree on the front and the edges.

Next, cover the entire tree and patchwork pieces with modPodge and let it dry. When it’s dry brush on some antique wax and wipe off the excess. Glue the patches on the tree and attach the tree to the base with some more glue.

Make the greenery bundles

Gather some pieces of greenery from various picks and wrap them together with a zip tie.  Make two and glue one to the bottom of the tree on each side. Glue some pinecones and mini twigs in the center bottom. Dry brush some white paint on all the embellishments.

Make a simple bow

Cut a piece of Bowdabra bow wire, fold it in half, and place it in the Bowdabra.  Now begin to lay in strips of various ribbons and fabric pieces about 12 inches long.  Find the center and lay them in the Bowdabra, folding one side and then folding the other side to make a bow.

Thread the loose ends through the loop, pull tight, and remove from the Bowdabra.  Turn to the back and tie a knot. Fluff and arrange the bow. Glue or stape the bow to the top of the tree. Glue a little extra greenery and a bell to the bow.

You have a gorgeous little winter patchwork tree to transition from holiday decor to winter!
